Invictus Dragon Boat Club

Since our establishment in March 2020, Invictus Dragon Boat Club has proudly represented Canberra at a range of local, interstate, and international dragon boating events. Our members actively compete across multiple regattas each season, showcasing the club’s commitment, teamwork, and growing strength within the sport.

Highlights include participation in major ACT and NSW regional regattas, as well as the Australian Dragon Boat Championships 2024, where our crews delivered outstanding results. The Invictus Senior A Women’s team claimed gold medals and the title of Australian Champions in both the 200m and 500m small boat categories, while our Premier Women’s team achieved gold and national champion titles in the 200m, 500m, and 2000m small boat races.

Several members have also been selected to represent the ACT State Crews, competing across senior categories — a reflection of the club’s depth of talent and dedication.

Through every race, Invictus continues to uphold its values of inclusiveness, commitment, and strength, embodying our club motto inspired by William Henley’s Invictus:“I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.”

If you have the drive to compete and are looking for friendship and fitness, Invictus is the club for you!!

   As a club we are committed to:

  • ensuring that all members are given the opportunity to realise their full potential, both mentally and physically:
  • providing the opportunity for members to train on a regular basis;
  • assisting DBACT to promote dragon boat paddling within the ACT;
  • developing the crew both mentally and physically ito compete at a high level;
  • providing opportunities for those paddlers who have undertaken a Sweep or Coach Accreditation course, to develop their skills further; and
  • providing opportunities to give back to our broader community by emphasising the benefits of exercise and physical fitness on health and well-being while minimise barriers to participation.

We’re recruiting paddlers of all ages and experience levels! Whether you’re new to the sport or a seasoned competitor, there’s a place for you on our club. Our junior program is open to ages 10 and up — a great way to build fitness, confidence, and teamwork.:
